The Monster Song -- Halloween song for helping children cope with 'monsters'

The Monster Song aims to help kids from being afraid of 'monsters'. The lesson is that you should be aware that when you are scared, your mind can play tricks on you -- tricks such as making you think there are monsters. Along with helping kids alleviate fears of bedtime monsters, the song should also be fun for Halloween festivities!

Jack-o'-lantern Lyrics:

Jack-o'-lantern, Jack-o'-lantern, shining bright
Perched on the porch, on Halloween night
I see you, and greet you, every year
October 31st is finally here
(repeat)

Jack-o'-lantern, Jack-o'-lantern, shining bright
Perched on the porch, on Halloween night
Trick or treat, down the street, having lots of fun
Jack-o'-lantern shine for everyone!
(repeat)

The song is particularly helpful in that it connects a verb to a body part, so for example "seeing" is linked to eyes, "hearing" is linked to ears and so on.This enables learners to absorb several concepts at the same time.

Note to parents: toward the end, a dinosaur makes an appearance; so make sure you are with your kids so they don't get scared! After the dinosaur appears, two characters talk about how dinosaurs are not farm animals...
